IT'S DAYLIGHT SAVINGS!
We lose an hour of sleep but the good thing is we gain an hour of sunlight, so more time to hike outdoors!
Let's try The Skyline Trail again, this time with more challenge and no carpooling! :D
The Skyline Trail located on the hilltops amidst Hacienda Heights, La Habra, and Whittier's borders is a very scenic elevated trail with easy-moderate difficulty.

On clear days you can see:
the mountains to the North, the sparkling ocean to the West, and even downtown LA. If you are familiar with Colima Rd in Hacienda Heights, this trail runs through the hilltops in the back of the residential homes from Schabarum Park to Hacienda Blvd.

Planning to go at a fair pace but don't let that stop you if you are an avid hiker :)
This will be about a 3-4 mile forward and back round-trip hike with Schabarum park being the start and finish point. Assuming that the hike will be roughly around 2 hours in length.
Dogs are Welcome!
I will be babysitting a Shitzu Puppy this day :)
* MEETING POINT *
The grass area at the corner exit of Schabarum Park where S. Azusa Ave. and Colima meet. This is towards the front of the park, where the 85 degree Bakery should be visible.
Parking at Schabarum Park is $6.00
You can park at your own risk at the mall parking lot, on the street up Azusa, or at the 85 degree bakery. Other people do this all the time but just be careful, just in case.
Do NOT park at the medical plaza!
* Things to Bring *
Good comfortable shoes for hiking, Sunglasses, Hat, Water, a Jacket if in case it's a windy day
Always keep in mind that hiking involves a risk of injury. RSVP'ing to this event automatically assumes your understanding of the risks and dangers that may be involved.
This area is a wilderness preserve for anything from wild birds to coyotes. Watch out for rattlesnakes, poison ivy, and spikey plants. For more info about the trail: CLICK HERE

Afterwards, those that want to eat some dinner can meet up at the Puente Hills Corner area of Albatross and Colima Rd. There's a Chipotle, Niko Niko Sushi, Panera Bread, Red Mango, Wingstop, and Jamba Juice here with several outdoor seating places for those of you that are bringing dogs.
See you there!
Is this a park that requires a pass for parking? Please let me know asap so I can get a pass before I head up there, thanks.
no pass required. If you park inside the park, there is a booth at the entrance with an attendant that will collect $6 from you. You try to park on side street of S. Azusa, across the street at the mall, or at the Albertson's parking lot to avoid the $6 fee
The park is easily visible. If you are at the corner of Azusa and Colima, only one corner has a lot of trees and there is a big sign that says Schabarum Park. The other three corners are gas stations and a plaza.
Thanks everyone for coming! I made a mad rush outta the park and didn't get to say bye to some of you but check out the picture of Vic's new cutie furry friend (my shitzu's sister) :)
